First-Time Spa Visit? Our Complete Etiquette Guide

First-time spa guests often arrive with a quiet undercurrent of anxiety — unsure of what to wear, when to speak, how much to undress, or whether their preferences will seem demanding. We want to dissolve that before you even walk through our door.

Arrive ten to fifteen minutes before your appointment. This is not just good manners — it allows you time to complete a brief health form, change into comfortable attire at your own pace, and begin the transition from the outside world into a calmer state. Rushing to an appointment and then immediately expecting to feel relaxed is a significant obstacle to your experience.

You will be draped with a towel or sheet throughout your treatment. Only the area being worked on is uncovered at any time, and your therapist will always communicate before moving the drape. You are never required to remove more than you are comfortable with. Our therapists are trained to work effectively within whatever boundaries you set — please share them.

Silence is welcome. Conversation is equally welcome. There is no correct setting. Some clients find that talking helps them stay present; others sink into a meditative quiet. Your therapist will follow your lead.

After your session, we invite you to rest in our relaxation area with water or herbal tea before returning to the world. This transition period is genuinely valuable — it allows your nervous system to consolidate the benefits of your treatment rather than immediately re-engaging with external stimulation. Try to avoid scheduling demanding tasks in the hour after your appointment.
